Elly's Orthopedic checkup

Today we had Elly's orthopedic checkup with Dr. Charles Nulte. Very nice guy. Actually my mom saw him for her initial visit for her rotator cuff surgery. Anyway, he viewed all the x-rays and felt that today we did not need to redo any x-rays or labs. Thank God for that. My biggest fear was that we were going to have to put Elly through all that trauma again, to then have more night terrors. He explained to me that he did not feel comfortable with her case as he had never dealt with someone with this type of injury that was this small. Therefore, he wanted permission from me to send her x-rays to a pediatric orthopedic in Rochester at Mayo to look at them and see what he had to see and say. After they speak then Dr. Nulte will contact me and let me know what we need to do from here. He also wanted to know if we would be willing to go to Mayo if needed. This doctor does come to LaCrosse the first Thursday of every month. Well of course we missed that so we would have to travel to Rochester. Of course, I said that we were willing. She is starting to use it a little with walking but not enough to not get the opinion from the pediatric orthopedic doctor. My guess would be that we will be heading to Rochester soon.

In regards to her night terrors...we did try the method of putting our hand on her shoulder last night when we went to bed and had her move a little and it seemed to help as she slept until around 6 this morning with problems. So I guess we will do this for a week or two and see how it goes. Everything is worth a try until it doesn't work anymore.
