Horsing Around

On Friday, kids last day of school we told the kids when they got home from school we had a surprise for them.  Mainly Ellaree but a surprise nonetheless for them all.  We got in the truck and headed for our destination.  It was a long 2 1/2 hours of questions but we finally made it.

June 4th - Happy 9th birthday Els! We love you!

She requested waffles for her birthday breakfast.  Well I couldn't find anything to light the candle with so we had to pretend.  Good thing we had something by nighttime.  Also, when she got up that morning she went straight out to do her chores and didn't come in for breakfast for 3 hours.  Good thing waffles can keep warming.

Last Day

Where is the stop button so these kiddos will stop growing so fast! My heart is soaking up the love I see in the kids for school.  My ears are soaking up the quietness I have for a couple of more hours before summer starts.  Ellaree reminds me daily if not hourly that today she will be a 4th grader and tomorrow she will be 9! Really!  My heart swells as I look at these kids.  God has their hearts on fire for life, for learning, trying new things and maybe at times a little hesitant but they also know that we are behind them in anything they do.
