So I called at 9 this morning to find out what the Patient Referral Department found out as to Elly appointment. Diane had to admit that she felt that they were being left out of the loop and that she felt that Dr. Nulte's nurse Karen knew more then they did. So Diane transferred me over to Karen. Karen said that she was still waiting to hear from Dr. Stans office in regards to when Elly could get in and what she would need to have done. I told her at this point today I would like her to be seen for just a consult. No tests, just a consult as our insurance makes us do all tests that are available in LaCrosse, need to be done in LaCrosse. Karen said she would call up to Dr. Stans office and see what she could find out. I heard nothing back.
Harry called to talk with Karen at 11 and found out that Karen had left for the day. He was able to speak with Aaron Jacobson, PA-C, who we originally saw. He said that the casting would be the safest route and beneficial if there was no improvement whatsoever. But with her bearing weight and starting to improve that casting would be a last resort at this time. He did agree with Harry that he thought that we should get another set of films to compare to last weeks. That is set up for next Thursday. He also said that it would still not be a bad idea to meet with Dr. Stans for a consultation. He felt that with Elly improving that he did not think that at this time we needed to do a MRI but Dr. Stans was the expert in this and that he would need to make that call.
So the plan at this time after all this run around is that we will still make an appointment on Monday to be seen by Dr. Stans for a consultation. And if need be, we will move her x-rays up to an earlier time rather then wait for Thursday.
