Bone Scan Results

Yesterday we got our results for Elly's bone scan. Unfortunately, the results were inconclusive. The scan was suppose to find any abnormalities on the bones and/or maybe give us a little more clarification as to how she fractured her lesser trochanter. But the only "hot spot" as they call it was in the area of her fracture. So that is good that there is no other places with abnormalities but still doesn't tell us how or what is going on.

Therefore, we are heading back up to Mayo on Tuesday for a MRI. This will tell us if there is any tumors. They are wondering if by chance there is a tumor that is not being detected and that might be why she fractured her lesser trochanter so easily. The MRI will be under general anesthesia again. We will check in at 8 AM and the test will start about 9:15. We will get to see Dr. Stans after Elly's procedure and after she wakes up. So no waiting until the next day to get our results which is very nice.
