Oh where to begin...It is Saturday and not raining so I guess we will start there. That is a wonderful blessing. There isn't much to report on today.

Harry is hard at work as always. He just finished switching a loader from one John Deere tractor to another for one of his farmers. I believe he is suppose to go work on another one here in the next couple of days. Something to do with a starter - I believe. He test drove another milk truck yesterday. I think he is still leaning towards a Peterbuilt but I believe yesterday was a Sterling.

Monday through Friday I was on the Clomid. I was worried about the side effects but there was none. They have me on one of the lost doses of 50 mg so hopefully we can keep it there. I go back on Tues. to see if the medication is working by doing another ultrasound to make sure that I am ovulating.

Tuesday I watched Isabell Korn while Bill & Jane was at Grandpa Korn's funeral. Isabell & Elly both had fun but I didn't have to do much as they both went down for their naps at the same time. And napped until Jane came to pickup Isabell. Oh well, Isabell is coming back on Sunday so they will have more time to play.

Of course, I have pictures to share with all of you.

Saturday

If you know me at all you know that I am a planner. I take my planner with me every where I go and I already have things scheduled for 2009. That is all fine and dandy to plan and have a good idea of what you want to do for the day and days to come but only God can say what is going to happen that day. I am reminded of this each and every day as I start out my day.

Today we got a phone call that our friends, Bill & Jane Korn. Bill's father past away yesterday from a massive heart attack. Very unexpected. Our thoughts and prayers go out to them today.

Also, yesterday I found out that things were not going the best for me either, as my endo started acting up again. I called my doctor to discuss what needed to be done and we set up an appointment for today. We had a baseline sonogram done this morning to make sure all was fine. The baseline sonogram is basically to check to see if there are any cysts that should not be growing on my ovaries. That all turned out fine and we decided to go on the clomid now then to wait until September, as we had planned, to see if this would help us get pregnant. As you recall, my left tube is blocked. Dr. Silva put me on the lowest dosage of clomid in hopes to help ovulation but not produce multiples. Sorry grandparents! He feels that the help from the clomid will hopefully increase the chances of getting pregnant sooner and the hormones in the clomid will also hopefully help keep the baby once we are pregnant. So we are keeping our fingers crossed and praying hard....

Harry is hard at work today on his day off (sounds funny doesn't it). Yes he is always hard at work but on a side job today. He is working on a John Deere tractor for one of his farmers. Imagine that - a John Deere! Thankfully the tractor is here at the house so that he is close by so if I need his help with Little Missy and so we can kind of spend time with him.

Also today, my parents are coming up the house to help with drywall in Elly's room. Yeah!!!! We are getting closer to having a room that I can finally decorate!!! I have all these ideas and just can't wait...will send pictures of the progress soon.

Elly's room & more

As promised here is the progress of Elly's room.

Here are some additional pictures that I thought were sooooo very cute...

Elly taking a bath. She was splashing and all of a sudden spotted her sippy and needed a drink....

Elly watching the horses out the window. This is her favorite thing to do while taking all of my utensils out of the holder. :)

Father's Day

Father's Day was good. Harry was off - well off from picking up milk but not from milking the cows. But he was done around 6 AM. So that wasn't bad. Elly & I made Harry cinnamon rolls & gave him his gift, which was a John Deere t-shirt, John Deere photo frame with Elly's picture in it & Prirates of the Carribean #3. It was very cute b/c when we were in the store looking at the JD t-shirts I held up two shirts to Elly and asked her which one we should buy daddy. She looked at them for quite some time and finally chose the brown one that said Dig It! I thought it was very cute.

We worked on Elly's room. This was great for me as I have been pushing for this to happen since we moved in. Friday night we had our friend Lisa watch Elly while we worked upstairs and cleaned her room out. It was being used as storage and we needed to clean that out first. Then yesterday we put OSB on the walls. And now we can start putting up the drywall. I am so excited!!!

Elly's room before. We gutted two rooms and took out a wall in between to make them one large room. Otherwise they were just two very small rooms. And the first picture shown didn't have any heating in it.

I will send pictures of the progress soon!

In the afternoon, we went to my parents and celebrated with a cookout. There was lots there...my grandma & grandpa Hornby, my parents (of course), my sister - Jen, Nick & Maddie, my brother - Jerod, my A. Karen & U. La Mon, my A. Kristi & U. Kevin, and cousins Shelly, Paxtyn & Chase. We had lots of fun just hanging out.

I do need to note that I need prayers as I am home sick today with my endometriosis. I have been not doing well lately with the pain again. Elly went in the milk truck this morning with Harry as he was going to take her to daycare. Unfortunately, I am not able to keep her with me when I am sick b/c I can't keep up with her and give her what she needs. It breaks my heart to think that she can't stay with me.

I just spoke with Harry and he said that Elly did ok. She would cry when he left the milk truck but she would soon realize that he was coming back. But the tears were already there. Poor girl. But all in all, Harry said she did great and he enjoyed having her with him.

2008 Flooding

It has only been 10 months since the flooding in August of 2007. Not long enough for many to repair, rebuild and restructure. Many farmers lost their crops last year. Then to turn around and lose them again this year. That is hard on a farmer. Depending on the farmers flood insurance, some policies state if you don't lose it all then the farmer doesn't get paid the full amount. Many farmers did not reapply for this year, due to not getting paid the full amount but paying an arm and a leg for the policy. The state is strapped for funds to give out to the different counties as they just helped 10 months ago. Gays Mills, which is about 45 minutes from our house, 10 minutes from my parents, is considered a disaster area. When it is that close it really hits home.

2008 floods have effected more then in 2007. As in 2007 it was dry and therefore took longer for the flooding part to start. This time we were already quite wet and didn't need this much rain. On Monday, June 9th, 91 roads in Vernon County (where we live) were closed to wash outs, water over the roads & bridges & damns that were concerns.

Going down memory lane...August 2007 I was attending my cousin, Jena & Adam's wedding. We were having a great time. We knew that it was raining outside but didn't realize the effects it was actually having outside. That night we stayed at my parents house. It took Harry over 3 hours to get from my parents house to ours. It usually should take, at that time, 45 minutes. Then he had quite the time taking alternative routes to get his milk picked up. He was not able to pick up all his milk and had to leave alot of milk. It took him days to finally get all the farms picked up.

I didn't want to have to travel with having a 2 month old with me, but knew that if I didn't go soon, I would be stuck at my parents as the Kickapoo River was inching towards the bridge on Hwy 14. I finally got the courage to go, to find out later that they closed the bridge an hour after I left. I would have been there for days if I had not went when I did.

I have added pictures of the surrounding areas of Richland Center, Viola & La Farge.

1 year well-baby checkup

Well today was our 1 year well-baby checkup. Here are Little Missy's statistics...

19.7 lbs.; 25%
28 inches tall; 25%
17 1/2 head circumference; 50% (this has to come from her father - right?) :)

We had three shots today...comvax, Hep A & Prevnar.

Then we had her little finger poked to check lead & iron levels.

She had a rough day. Elly also got floride supplement & multivitamin drops.

She is growing waaaaay to quick.

Elly has her groove on...

Babies are amazing. They do something funny every day. For Elly's birthday she got the fridge farm from the Turgasen's. She loves it. It is a magnet for the fridge (obviously) and it has the front half and back half of animals. If you put them together then it makes little songs. And of course there is farmer Tad that plays his banjo. Anyway, whenever Tad plays his banjo she dances. We had to put it on video for you all. Too cute to keep to ourselves.

Weather wise...thunder storms, flood warnings & tornado warnings...I am not so sure I like spring time. Yesterday I went with Harry to Blair and some of the side roads were already washed out and not good. I think we are going to see another flood like last year (hopefully not as bad). And of course, Harry is driving in it again today. Some of the farms are hard to get into as they have bad bridges, roads and other things that makes it difficult for them to get in and out. Elly & I were suppose to attend the Richland County Dairy breakfast with Grandma & Papa Hornby this morning but decided to stay home and dry. This would have been Elly's 2nd annual dairy breakfast as she went last year. She was only 6 days old. The Durst/Larse Farms had it last year and couldn't miss that. I feel bad but she will have years of dairy breakfasts to attend. She will be ok.

Elly really likes her balloons that we bought for her birthday party. Surprisingly they are still floating. She likes to walk around with them but we learned for quickly that she can't take them into the living room with the ceiling fan. :)

Little Miss Stinker

So I needed to do some work on the computer this morning and figured that Elly would be fine in the office with me. Usually I have the gate across the doorway so that she can't get in there. But today with me being in there with her I figured it would be fine. I needed to leave the office for a quick second and this is what I found when I got back...

Elly's 1

Well today Elly is finally 1. I won't say she is one yet since it is not 1:52 PM. I am still holding onto a little piece of my baby. She isn't so much a baby anymore...as she is more a toddler. Yesterday as I was sitting on the couch with her she looked at me with lovey in her arms and she said "night night". That was her first time saying that but I melted because she is coming up with quite the vocabulary in such a short amount of time. I am so glad that I was able to take today off and spend it with her. These are the days that you won't ever get back. So we are just hanging out today at home. The big fun will be when daddy gets home from work. We will give her gifts from us and have a great dinner together. My goal is to take off for every birthday for Elly and for future babies to come. I think it is important for them to know that they have one if not more special days with me.

As promised....here is Elly's video of her destroying her cake at her party. Enjoy!

Here is a picture of Naomi Grace Hardin & Ellaree Lynn Louise Young. Naomi & Elly are only 17 days apart. What cutie pies!

Elly's 1st birthday party

Well you couldn't have asked for a better day. We had a blast. With cake, pinata and a hayride who could ask for more. We got sprinkled on during the hayride but that is ok. Just adds to the excitement. Here are pictures of the events...
