What A Week

We start off on Tuesday with Liza being just cranky and giving Kassy a hard day of not wanting to sleep and crying. That is hard when I can't come home and help. But we all made it through the day even though it was a very long day for Kassy.

Wednesday as I was feeding Liza baby puffs she chomped down on my finger and it hurt! Oh my it is a tooth!!!!!! We have our first tooth. She was so proud of herself when we figured it out. No wonder she was cranky yesterday. I would be too.

Wednesday was also the day that we went down to visit with Auntie Laurie and the kiddos. We had so much fun. It is always exhausting by the end of the day with the long drive but it is well worth it. While we were there Elly got to go swimming in their pool. We had the unfortunate part of having a very big scare that I don't care to experience again. Laurie and I were on the deck watching the kids play in the pool. And you know the stories you hear where the parent was standing right there when it happened. Well that was me. I took my eyes off of Elly for barely 2 seconds and when I looked back Elly was face down in the water. I have never ran so fast in my life and yet it feeling like an eternity to get to her. It took her a while to get her breath but she is just fine. The only side effects is that we pray a lot to God thanking him for keeping her safe as she is very scared and we have had a couple of nights with nightmares where I have needed to lay with her until she finally goes back to sleep. I don't blame her one bit, I still relive it and trying to figure out what I could have done differently but really I think that God guided me the right way, who am I to second guess God. Needless to say Elly played on the swing set the rest of the day which was ok with mommy. Swimming lessons are in our favor for next year for sure.

Friday morning I called into the clinic as soon as they opened up as Elly (yes Elly again) was crying when she was pee peeing again. Once again she has a UTI but also a yeast infection. We were told that she is having way too many of these and if she gets another one soon after taking her antibiotics that she will need to have an ultrasound of her kidneys and bladder to make sure there is no under lying issues going on. It is very common for a 3 year old girl to have a UTI as they are trying to learn to be independent with wiping and taking care of hygiene on their own but not this often.

So Kassy met me at work and took the girls back to the house. 2 1/2 hours later I get a phone call that Elly is vomiting. I was headed home very quickly to take care of my poor baby girl that was just not doing well that day. That morning she had told me that her baby hurt (because we all know she has a baby in her belly just like mommy) and she tells me this often so I really did not think much about it. Well I guess I should have taken her word for it a little more serious. Once I got home she was laying on the floor in a makeshift bed and was watching Clifford The Big Red Dog. Yes we have wore those movies out completely (but thank you Aunt Meredith and Aunt Allison they were life savers yesterday). On my way home from work I did call the clinic back and Nurse Lori told me that it is very common to have vomiting associated with a UTI which I did not know. But she said it also could be the summer crud or flu that is going around. Not sure which it is yet. We are thinking UTI as she holds her belly when walking and puts her hand on her back by her kidneys. Hoping this morning when she wakes up she is feeling better.

With all this going on with Elly it was a hard decision for mommy but I sent Liza down to Grapa & Grama's overnight. She is not sleeping through the night and this is very hard for me to do since I like them to be sleeping through the night before sending them on their way. But since I had no idea what we were in store for throughout the night with Elly I felt that I needed to send her so that I could focus on Elly. Although Elly was not in favor of this idea as she cried when Liza left and didn't want her to leave her. It was very sweet to watch and know that she loves her sissy that much. But I am sure it will be a long time before I send Liza again on her way.

At 7 this morning Elly climbed into bed with me as I actually got to sleep in this morning a little. She asked if she could go and get her sissy from Grapa & Grama right now. But soon fell back to sleep in my bed and is still there now. So hopefully when she wakes up she is feeling much better. What she is not going to like is that I am not giving her coffee this morning and that is going to just about break her.
