Sleeping

Isn't it funny how one pregnant momma needs so much sleep and then the next one doesn't. I just read my cousin Erica's blog and she is getting all kinds of sleep. Don't get me wrong, I am not saying that I am some superhero that can go without sleep. What I am saying, is that I am jealous that she can get in a nap and still go to bed and sleep. Me, I am one hurting momma right now as I can't sleep. I toss & turn and do that whole sleeping but still conscious thing. It is horrible. Then you wake up in the morning and all you want is more then one cup of coffee to get you through the morning but you have vowed to only one cup per day. So you scrounge through your cupboards until you find the biggest coffee cup possible so that you can justify in your mind that it is still only one cup of coffee.

Yesterday, I actually did lay down and take a nap when Elly had "quiet time". Yeah well then last night at 9:30 when Harry was sleeping on the couch, I was wide awake and no intentions of going to bed anytime soon. What is up with my inner clock. Doesn't it know that I need sleep right now before the big adventure? Speaking of the big adventure...yeah then when I did actually sleep then I have these weird dreams. I know that is part of the whole pregnancy thing but holy cow are they weird. And you wake up thinking "wow, really, did I just dream that!"

So here is to you Erica, for being able to rest peacefully. I won't say to you comfortably because you and I both know that that just is not possible at this point in the game. It will be interesting to see who gets to the finish line first! Good luck and we will be praying for a safe arrival of your baby girl!

Well, let me clarify. The reason I need to take a nap during the day is that even though I can go to bed at night, I am usually up 8-10 times and it takes me a while to fall back asleep after each waking. I am never sleeping for more than 45 minutes to an hour at a time, which means I am never really getting into REM sleep very often. I actually slept wonderfully while pregnant with Micah, so this has been quite the change for me. Here is to not being exhausted again . . . someday, like in maybe a year.

JoEllen, Looks like Erica beat yah to the mommy of 2 stage. Enjoy these last days with just one... Life does get more interesting with each one.
