Well I just spoke with Jerod. He returned last night from AT training for 3 weeks at Fort McCoy. He had his annual training for the year. While there his papers did come through and was promoted. Also, while there he signed up to go to Nebraska for 2 weeks training so that he can get more training. We are so proud of him.

Thoughts on Joy and what her heart must be going through right now....we know that he did not have to suffer and that Jesus is holding him right now. Oh how sweet a picture that would be. I think of that each time that I start to get sad with loosing all three of my children. Jesus is holding them. And if he needs to tend to another, like David, my Big Grandma Hornby is rocking my babies for me. As a child, I remember Big Grandma in her big orange rocking chair and her duty on the farm was to rock the babies. I know that she is up in heaven taking care of the babies. Oh how I wish I could get my camera up there for that sweet picture.

Harry's family in Kentucky raises crops as a family. Right now they need our prayers for the harvest as they are about to start corn harvest. Before I was in Harry's life, he would go down every year for harvesting. He misses it terribly. I told him today that I could be packed by the time he got home from driving milk truck and we could leave. Oh how I would love that. Elly rides so well that it would be no issue. Work wise it is an issue but that is nothing compared to being with family.
Here is a little blurb from his cousin Al (hope you all understand the farming technology terms as sometimes I just shake my head and agree)...I think that will go kind of slow b/c we have to haul all of our grain to town this fall (as our storage is full of wheat). So, we could sure put Harry in a truck! We are only running one combine and one grain cart in the field this fall, but after the corn we will plant wheat with a new-to-us wheat drill for which Dad just traded. We don't have a tractor big enough to pull it so we'll rent one this fall and look into trading another year. I am looking forward, after all that, to harvesting soybeans for the first time in two years. We have a newer soybean platform this year, and I hope it will work flawlessly. I suspect it will be a wet fall, and I hope we don't have too much trouble with that late season work. In the mean time, we are praying that we don't get smacked with an early frost and/or Soybean Rust from this tropical storm moving north.

One quick story to tell you about Harry and Elly and then I will get off for today. :) Last night Elly didn't want to go to bed in her crib. So Harry said he would take care of it and I was a little worried what that entailed but let him take care of it. He came back down after about 15 minutes and thought that that went pretty smoothly since I could hear them on the monitor. So I asked him what his secret was....he got in the crib with her and laid down with her until she fell asleep. hahahaha
