Our honeymoon was so awesome. Unfortunately Harry got home later from work then we would have liked therefore he never went to bed before leaving for Minneapolis. Thankfully when we hit West Salem, about 30 minutes from our house, he let me drive on the interstate to Rochester, MN. This was a little challenging as I have not been able to practice driving his truck for a while now but we managed with no accidents. Needless to say Harry only got about an hour rest.
After getting a bite to eat in Rochester we decided to take the scenic route. Well needless to say Harry was looking at the crops, tractors and traffic and therefore missed his turn. We went 40 miles North of our destination. Well that was fine as then he was able to show me many, many Kwik Trips that he does/has delivers to. It was fun seeing some of them and just spending time together.
Harry took me out to Houlihan's for dinner. It was very nice that it was just on the other side of the parking lot from the hotel. After our dinner we went to Cousin Matt's and rode into downtown Minneapolis with him. Good thing too because trying to find a parking spot for Harry truck would have been impossible. Before the concert we walked around and he showed us some really cool buildings and what is fun and exciting to do.
The concert was amazing and so exciting. Unfortunately the music was soft, lights dimmed and Harry very much tired that he slept through about half of it. Matt completely understood and I was going to nudge him if he started to snore.
Sunday I let Harry sleep in as I new he had to be exhausted. So we didn't get out of our hotel and doing anything until around 10ish. Missed complimentary breakfast but that was ok and we went to Perkins. After that we decided to do another route home and started to go past Mall of America. I was not interested in going there. Been there done that, and I know how much Harry loves to shop. But there was an Ikea right next to it and I have heard lots of fun things about this store so Harry agreed we could go. We didn't buy much but did find the kids some dishwasher safe cups and some nice gigantic stools for their bathroom.
We headed towards home not really knowing what we wanted to do. No kids, on a budget, not sure what there is to do. We ended up stopping and window shopping at the Amish Furniture Store in Rochester and then headed across the street to Menards. It just is not a trip without Menards and/or Walmart.
On the way to LaCrosse we decided we wanted to grill out since it was still fabulous weather. So we called up Papa Harry & Nonie and let them in on our plans. We had a great time grilling out, hearing of the kids adventures and just relaxing.
Oh the kids adventures were very fun and it sounds like they wore them out. Saturday they did Walmart, Walgreens, Menards, Culvers. Sunday they did the Richland Center apple orchard, checked the farm and hung out at home.
Monday I was on the road again. Took Ellaree to school then to LaCrosse I went for Mr. Harry's 9 month checkup. We did a little shopping before hand which was nice. When they laid him out straight to measure him I could not believe how long he looked but he was right on for average. Just goes to show you how much time I have to notice these things. Here are his statistics...
Weight ~ 19 lbs 15 oz ~ 35%
Height ~ 28 1/2 inches ~ 51%
Head ~ 45.5 cm ~ 52%
No shots today. Not even a flu shot. But they did do a lead poke. He was not very happy about this. But we managed to get through it.
And through this amazing weekend filled with so many photo opportunities...I didn't take one picture. Sad, I know. Especially when my camera was in my purse the whole time.
