Exhausted

In my previous post I wrote how I felt like I had not gotten back into a normal routine since getting back from our honeymoon weekend.  Well this week only made it that much harder as I took on more then I should have, hence now I have the worst migraine for the last week as my stress keeps progressing.  Anyway, Wednesday I was scheduled to sub in the Resource room like I have before.  All was great in there and the kids remembered me.  It was a good day.

Thursday morning I am getting the kids ready for school when the phone rings at 7 AM.  It is the superintendent at the school asking me if I could sub for the elementary secretary as she was out ill.  Here comes the double fast acting at 7 AM.  I had no babysitter, I had 30 minutes to have someone, drop kids off and be at school.  Could I do it?  Thankfully Harry was off that day but he had plans to cut wood all day.  I didn't want to interrupt his plans if at all possible.  Therefore I called Grama.  I felt terrible waking her up but she agreed and thankfully I can go the round about way to school and drop them off.  We were off as Harry was helping pack a diaper bag as I was barking orders.  Thank God I showered and was half way decent for the day.  I quickly changed into something more professional looking and we were out the door by 715.  I was told to not worry and get there as soon as I could but didn't need to be there right at 730, it would be covered.  I was at school by 745.  I have had no training for the secretary but thankfully I did work in the office my senior year.  Could things have changed that much in 11 years?  Yes and no!  Thankfully with lots of guidance and understanding from the teachers and staff we made it through the day.  At the end of the day I was asked if  I could come in on Friday as the secretary was still ill.  Grama had already informed me she could watch the kids if I needed to work.  Thank you Grama for being on the ball.  So Friday again we all got up and went to school.  Harry had to work and he was cutting wood so I was very appreciative of Grama.

Ellaree surprisingly enjoyed momma being at school and all her friends were saying hi to Ellaree's mom!  It was lots of fun seeing that she enjoyed me there.  There were quite a few kids that I new and it was fun too to see them give me hugs, smile at me and come and chat really quick with me.  I loved the atmosphere of it all.  But I do have to confess it was hard on my family as well.   I did not get home until almost dinner time both nights.  This was difficult as we eat right around 5 as we need to do baths and bedtime by 7.  Therefore I ordered pizza on Thursday and cold cereal Friday night, not the greatest I know.  Also it was hard on the little ones as I was not here all day and they wanted to just be around me.  I had a very hard time getting anything done along with being exhausted and having a migraine still.  I enjoyed my time at school, loved subbing but glad at this time in my life that God has provided for me to be at home with my children.  Every once in a while subbing is great, being at home every day is the best!
