Love Independence

Today I went to turn in my paperwork at the school for subbing.  As I was turning it in I met up with a couple of my teachers from growing up that are still there.  It was great to see them and it was fun to chat for the 5 minutes they had.

As we were talking they asked how Ellaree was transitioning to school away from mom.  I explained there was really no transition for her but she was very independent and brutally honest in telling me she did not want me in the school, I can drop her off at the sidewalk, she pleads with me not to walk right next to her and hold her hand if I do have to come into the school, please don't go talk to Mr. Harger or my friends.  Unfortunately for her sometimes it just doesn't go her way.  The teachers were laughing as they said, "oh we remember when you were just like that, now you know what your mom went through".  I called my mom on the way home from school and apologized.  :)

Ellaree some day when you look back on this time, I want you to know that you are so very special and God only made one of you.  He made you with a little of daddy's independence and a little of mommy's.  We know you are not saying these things to be hurtful but rather because you are wanting to explore and figure out this on your own.  Just remember that mommy and daddy are never far away and ready to help you out when you are ready.  We love you the way you are and we are so grateful everyday that you love life so much.  Keep exploring, keep loving life and keep being you!
