Happy Sub Steppin'

There has been a lot going on here in the last week.  Saturday was Harry's birthday...we are exactly 1 week apart and so for a whole week he can say I am older then him.  Saturday morning while he was sleeping Grama, the kids, Lisa and I went to our 4th annual Steppin' Out In Pink breast cancer walk.
After 5 miles, 5 stickers each, 5 beads each, lots of water, snacks and some breaks we made it to the finish.  We had lots of fun while walking for a great cause!
The minute we got to the walk Ellaree spotted the bounce houses...they had 4.  This is the one they chose.  Both girls were able to go, although Lorelai had some problems getting up the stairs on her own.
Miss Ellaree had no problems and was down the slide before Lorelai was even half way up the stairs.  See the lady in yellow going up the stairs...she is helping Lorelai go up.
The lady in yellow brought Lorelai back down as she wouldn't go by herself.

On the way back home we stopped and bought daddy Kwik Trip Cookie Dough ice cream (his favorite) and went through Culver's drive-thru for lunch (also daddy's favorite).  When we got home the girls went downstairs and woke him up.  Unfortunately, we only got about 1 1/2 with him before he had to go to work but at least we got to spend a little time with him.

Today I went into the school to get some paperwork.  Friday I received a phone call from Gail, the elementary school secretary, asking if I would be interested in subbing for Secretary and Teacher's Aid.  After Harry and I discussed it we agreed that subbing 2-3 times a month would be the maximum that I should do right now with having the little ones around.  As the kids get bigger I will be able to do more.

My first day on the job will be October 5th helping out Mrs. Marshall  in the Resource room.  I am very excited and am really looking forward to helping out at school, a little outing and a little paycheck I can put towards something the big check should not cover.

Wednesday night is my first Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) meeting.  Thanks to Grama for helping out by putting the kids to bed for me I will be able to attend once a month and hopefully make a difference.  I have always hoped I would be in a position with work and home to be able to be as involved as possible with the kids school.  My dreams are coming true one at a time.  The good Lord is soo good to me and my family.

Harry will start his winter bidding sometime late this week or early next week.  We are hoping for him to go to a 4-3 (4 days working and 3 days off) as a 5-2 is just not enough time for him to rest, get something done and family time.  This new route will begin the middle of October.

Last week Lil Harry went to see Dr. Nancy as he had/has a croupy cough, threw up flem a couple of times and was pulling at his ear.  But all turned out fine with him and his cough is getting better day by day.  When we got home Ellaree started not feeling well with all her signs and symptoms of another UTI even though we have her on medication right now.  So we did a urinalysis and the results came back negative (like always) but they were going to culture it.  As of this morning the culture looked kind of negative, is what the nurse said.  Not sure what kind of negative is but we are waiting to hear from Dr. Radamacher as Ellaree started complaining of her back hurting this morning with a fever.  A huge sign that things are getting worse for her.  Of course he is in surgery today so we are waiting for a break.  Probably the end of the day.  Her 1 year recheck with him is suppose to be October 19th but we moved it up to September 21st due to her not feeling well.  Mr. Harger, her teacher, is well aware of the situation and has been absolutely wonderful with the whole situation.  This morning he gave his concerns and asked if there was anything else he could do.  It means so much to us that even her teacher wants to help and is that concerned.  Will hopefully know more soon.

Tonight my friend Emily and I are having a mommy's night out...NO KIDS!  We are so excited and are celebrating my birthday.  I am excited but should go do some housework so that I can go once my chores are done.
