Special Day & Week

There are two things my sister does for my kids....1) each summer she has a sleepover at her house for 3-4 days and 2) when you turn 5 you get to go to Build A Bear.

Both things happened last week.  Tuesday she came and picked up Harry for his special day.  Since we were going to celebrate the kids family birthday she decided that July would be much better weather to take him then in December.  So off Harry went for his "5" year old special day with Aunt Jen.  

Yes he chose the Minion Kevin and it comes with all the sounds that a Minion makes too!

It would not be a special day without stopping for lunch at Dairy Queen!

When they got back to our house Harry didn't stay long.  The girls piled in and off they all 3 went to Aunt Jen's for 4 days!

It only took me 20 minutes to decide the house was too quiet and when Harry asked if I wanted to go with him to the farm to do chores I jumped on it.

Pancakes!

Everyone says we must have had such a relaxing time while the kids were gone....nope we work harder when they are not at home trying to get lots done.

Last year the week of the kids family birthday party (while the kids were at Aunt Jen's) we put the upper level of the deck on.  This year the week of we put the lower deck on.  We are consistent.  We also had a very eager teenage boy come to help us!  Oh how nice to have help.

Don't let Harry fool you...he posed and then went back to work!

As much fun as we had working side by side and getting projects done - I was ready for the kids to come home and celebrate their birthdays with many family and friends.
