I love this holiday. Harry says it is just another hallmark holiday...and he is right but still who doesn't love to celebrate love! So every year I try to make this day special without spending much money. A simple card. Harry's favorite candies and this year one of his favorite cookies.
Now for a man who doesn't like celebrating this holiday he sure did surprise me yesterday. I have been eyeing up this shirt that I have wanted but won't part with the money. Well he came home with it yesterday and said "Happy Valentines Day or whatever holiday it is suppose to be tomorrow" in that grumbly 'don't make too much out of this' voice. Just the gesture was purely wonderful to my heart.
There is another love that I look forward to and that is with the Lord. I have been learning through many trials and tribulations these last couple of weeks and months that there is only one in my audience. I only need to please one person and I only need to have love and receive love from the Lord. Yes it is fun to have love and acceptance from your family and friends but in the end when it matters most...there is only one that matters. I am learning that what happens here on earth are only little things. People can talk about me, they can be mean to me but in the end, when I stand with the Lord all those little comments will no longer matter. The only thing that will matter is what the Lord has to say to me. Don't get me wrong, it still hurts, as I am human and have feelings, but at the end of the day when I lay my day at his feet I am at peace and I can rest.
Please tell your loved ones that you love them and know you are loved in return.
