Harry has taken after Lorelai and has become quite the climber lately. The only difference is Lorelai is a monkey and swings from tree to tree where Harry is a cat and once in tree is terrified and yelps until someone comes and gets him. He sure does a good job climbing up the ladder on the swingset to get to the slide.
Ellaree has become quite the pro at pumping. If she is not on her bike you can usually find her on the swings.
Ok I am sorry but just look at this handsome man! There is no baby here anymore. He has grown up so fast.
The kids love their sandbox. Last year we had to limit the play as they would throw the sand up in the air and get in their eyes most of the time. This year (knock on wood) they just play and have a good time.
Lorelai loves the swings as well. The higher the better. She does try out Ellaree's swing every once in a while but she can't go as high on that one. Therefore she prefers her swing.
We had a massive amount of leaves to rake up after the snow went away. So we started raking, wind rowing with the lawn mower and now we have a nice large pile that we are waiting for rain so that we can burn them.
Ellaree & Daddy went to Nelson's Agri-Center and bought rakes. She was so excited. She did a lot of hard work that day and her dress showed it too. But of course hard work in a dress is the only way to go for this girl!
We have had a lot of cookouts with family and friends. We are nervous when the weather will change. I am crossing my fingers that it just stays like this for good. I am content with that plan. With nice weather comes planting season. Harry has already been feeling the pinch of not having the planters ready to go for the farmers. He has been putting in at least 55-60 hrs as week and he feels he is still behind. I am sure it will only get worse while he is gone next week to more schooling in Waterloo, Iowa. Thankfully it is only 2 days and 1 night. This being said, he will need to cut back on his hours of driving for Kwik Trip.
In other news...we went cold turkey potty training with Lorelai. Sunday we started no diapers all together. Even at night! We are getting better and better each day. Ellaree was so excited for her that she has decided to try it also with no pullups at nighttime. We explained to the girls that if they can help save us money on diapers & pullups that we will use the money towards a big treat for the family. Not sure what it will be yet but I guess we had better start thinking about it. And hopefully by the end of the year we will be a diaper free house! That would be fantastic.
