Being brought up in a christian home I have heard more than once before to trust in the Lord and he will guide you. Growing up and sometimes still today I think I know better or am too impatient to wait on the Lord. This week I have had two great experiences of watching the Lord guide my family.
With my dad taking on a new job and them redoing their roof on their house things were looking a little iffy financially. But the Lord guided them and has been providing for them financially through this rough but exciting period on my parents lives. What a big burden that has been lifted off my parents shoulders.
Yesterday I received a phone call from my sister. Her wish was finally granted. She accepted a position at Iowa-Grant school district teaching elementary students with reading difficulties. She will be teaching 2nd-4th grade students. This is also an increase from 50% to 75% position with all benefits included. At Rivervalley she did not receive benefits so this is a huge guidance from the Lord.
Along with her great news their family will be hosting a foreign exchange student for the fall semister. Her name is Laurance from Switzerland. She will arrive the weekend of Aug. 16th and be with them through May 26th. Maddie is very excited to have a big sister. She will be attending UW-Richland and is 19 years old.
Jerod will be leaving Aug. 1st for his AT training for the guards. He will be at Fort McCoy for three weeks training for when he goes over to Iraq as a prison guard. Then in Jan. he will be going to Florida or Texas for two weeks training and this will also be for prison guard training. At Jerod's AT training in Aug. he will be accepting Sargent position for his platoon. We are very proud of him.
The Lord provides for us and guides us each and every day but sometimes we get too busy and overlook his generosity. But his guidance and love is there with us each and every day. I am just so thankful that we have the Lord guiding us and our families. What a blessing we have in Jesus.
