Planting Season

Even with the snow still falling so gently on the ground almost every day this week it doesn't inhibit the farmers from knowing that in just one month they should be putting crops into the ground.  This being said I believe our time with Harry is coming to an end and his busy season is getting very very close to beginning.  Thursday Harry was one of the technicians that helped promote a Planter Clinic at the shop where he works.  In the morning they talked about the nuts & bolts, had a free lunch for all that attended and then in the afternoon he helped discuss AMS.  Harry has been working on this project diligently for the past couple of weeks.  Making sure he researched it enough and was fully prepared.  I am pretty confident that he will be asked to do another in the future.

Among his planters that he has lined up to have ready to go, he is also the self-propelled forage chopper technician for this area.  We got his on-call schedule for the next six months besides his regular on-call schedule for the shop.  So while on-call for SPFC he could be called to fix something 20 minutes away to 4 hours away 24/7.  This is definately going to be hard on the family but so thankful that he is knowledgable to help farmers out.  One thing that helps when I am feeling the pressure of a "spring/fall widow" as I call myself is something my Grapa said to me one day "I am sure that the farmers appreciate it when he answers the phone.  I remember it being a Saturday or a Sunday and wanting to get the job done and no one would answer my call or come out until Monday."  Harry is very much appreciated and he is very good at what he does.  We are so proud of him and love him so much.
