Well this morning is over...thank God! Elly did awesome considering all that went on. She screamed through the whole procedure...well I would too!
We did see Dr. Radamacher afterwards. She does have a reflex. This is a level 1 out of 5 and will not have to have surgery as he feels this will resolve on its own over time. She does have to finish off the Cipro as he wants to get rid of the bacteria and then she will be on a daily antibiotic for a year. After a year we will meet up with him and see how things are going and hopefully will be off the antibiotic for good.
This being said, if she has any signs or symptoms we will need to go in to see him with a urinalysis each and every time. He said that there is really nothing more or less we can do at this time to help prevent the UTIs. Pushing more water and/or cranberry juice will not make a difference. This is just the course that it needs to run.
