Culture Growing

Just received a phone call from Dr. Radamacher. Although Ellaree's urinalysis came back absolutely normal, her culture came back growing what is called Pseudomonas Bacteria, this is the same they found in August when she was so sick with vomiting and fever. Thankfully she has not had those symptoms as of yet. This is not a common bacteria found in children, more in adults that have been in the hospital. He has seen it in a few cases of children, just more common in adults. I asked him if he was concerned with this and he said not until after we see the ultrasound images and compare. So off the old antibiotic and onto a new one called Sipro...this is commonly used again for adults but will do good for Ellaree. She will have 5 mg 2X/day for 10 days. He still wants her to go through the ultrasounds (no rescheduling due to the culture growth necessary).

I called the pharmacy to ask them about flavor, it needs to be yummy tasting you know. Well this is not a commonly stocked item due to them not using it that often. Therefore the pharmacist is calling some of the bigger places like Walgreens or Walmart to see if they might have it on hand. If they do not, they will have to call Dr. Radamacher back and find out what he wants to do since it is the weekend and they won't get anything in until Monday if they order it. So we sit and wait until we get a phone call back from the pharmacy.

Call back from pharmacy and Walgreens does have the medicine. Thank you God! Therefore Harry will pick it up and we will start her on it tonight.

We thank you for your continuous thoughts and prayers during this time. Hopefully Thursday comes sooner then later.
