Happy "Pinkalicious" Birthday

Saturday was Lorelai's 1st "Pinkalicious" birthday party and was it ever fun! We had lots of pink cupcakes, pink marshmallows dipped in chocolate with pink sprinkles and sugar cookies in the shape of a 1 with pink frosting, along with the regular meal. We had so many wonderful family and friends that were able to join us. We are a very blessed family to have so many that love us so much. It took a little bit to get Lorelai going on the cupcake but once she figured out that it was sweet she was all over it!
It was so yummy!

But the balloons were a hit also!

Lorelai had fun unwrapping her gifts. More with the paper and the bags then the gifts but she did have fun. Look at that fun hat!

Sunday morning Ellaree & Lorelai had cupcakes for breakfast.
What a great second reenactment!

Clinic

Well this week has been full of dr. appointments at the clinic. Tuesday I took Lil Harry in as he is still having constipation problems even with the glisterin suppositories. He has stopped eating and has been throwing up his bottles. It reminds me of what Lorelai did in the beginning. So we took him in and had an x-ray done. He has stool in there and a little more then normal but nothing to be of concern. Dr. Nancy did say that since he is not eating, he is not producing poop, therefore he is not trying to go. We did put him on Prilosec for the acid reflux. Even if it doesn't help the acid reflux it will help with the constipation as it will help him go. So either way it is a win win situation. We are hoping that he only has to be on it one round and then he will be better. This was the case with Lorelai. Oh and he was 10 lbs 14 oz at that time.

Wednesday I had my postop appointment. Can you believe it has been 6 weeks already since I had Mr. Harry. It has just flew by. All is going well. I am to start exercising and rest when I can. I laughed at him as I told him if anyone should know it would be him that you don't get rest or exercise with 3 children (he has 4). I am hoping to get out and go ride bikes and take walks when it is nicer...not really something I would do right now in the middle of February. I did take Lil Harry with me and he hung out in the nurses station and flirted the whole appointment. Grama watched the girls for me while daddy slept.

When I got back though I had to do another run into the clinic for Ellaree. She is having UTI problems again and so I called her urologist and requested a urinalysis. I am thinking that her medication is not working. Therefore we will not hear anything until the culture comes back. I have been trying to hold off as long as possible as I hate switching the medicine on her but the symptoms have gotten worse. The only thing that would be worse is her getting the 105 fever again and I really don't want to go down that road. Thank goodness Grama was able to stay and watch the other two.

How Is It Going

This morning in the clinic I had an older gentleman ask me if I had enough help. This said since I had all three kids, two in the double stroller and Ellaree walking beside me. I told him I loved all the help, smiled and went on my merry way. It got me thinking "does everyone think my hands are too full?" This has been the common comment since I have had Lil Harry.

Well since Lil Harry has come along there are days that are challenging more then other days. I will not lie to you about that. There are days that we laugh, days I want to pull my hair out and scream, days I cry, days I pray every minute of the day and days we are just crazy and have fun. But really what is all that different then if I had one child or I had ten. I am a mom, I have feelings and emotions and I don't think I would be characterized as any different then any other mom. If God didn't think I could handle this challenge he would not have let me get pregnant right away with Lil Harry. I believe God lets everything happen for a reason. I believe right now he is challenging me with patience. I think I have good patience but there are days that I need extra patience. God is teaching me to let the little things go, go with the flow and just play and love my children. I thought I had it all together and was easy going but with each child I am learning to be more at ease and let life be lived and who cares about a clean toilet.

We are happy, we are all loved by each other and most importantly by God. We have each other and that is all that matters. So when you ask me How is it going and I reply "all is well in the crazy house". Well it is just that simple. Some days it is insane but it in a good and happy insane. I would not trade my life for anything. God has given me everything I could ever need or want.

Winter Wonderland 2011

Last night Harry was scheduled to go to Milwaukee on his route. Milwaukee was scheduled to get at least 8-15 inches of snow along with 34 mph winds. I am not sure what they actually got, I know we got around 5-8 inches along with 40 mph winds.

Harry left 2 hours earlier then he was schedule to leave in hopes that he would beat the worst and get there, unload and get back. Unfortunately that did not happen. At 2:30 this morning I received a phone call that he was East of Columbus and he was stuck in the middle of the road. And when Harry is stuck, he is really stuck stuck. So he called into dispatch and was waiting for the plow to come along. A nice gentleman that lived right there came out to make sure Harry was ok and told him that if he ran out of fuel to come and knock on the door and he could stay in the house until a plow got there. Well the plow came and said that they needed to get a graiter there. So again he waits. At 6 he was still waiting for the graiter.

7:15 he is finally back up and running. Dispatch told Harry to go to the nearest hotel and get a room. He needs to take 10 hours off and then he could proceed back to the lot. Well Harry talked them into shuttling a truck and trailer down to him and after his 10 hours is up he will take the other truck and do his route tonight and then come home tomorrow. At least he will get some good sleep in the hotel. Again unfortunately when he called the nearest hotel they were out of rooms. So he is still looking for a room and following the graiter.

What this means for me and the kids...we will see Harry tomorrow morning, we are drifted shut but doing ok. Harry threw wood downstairs yesterday before he left so we are good and cozy. The kids can't go outside due to the winds. So it will be cabin fever for a little while. But we will be warm, well fed and together. What more can we ask for. We are just thanking God that he has kept Harry safe this far and hoping that he has a safe return. You just gotta love Wisconsin weather!

Plowing Snow

Well we were to get 1-3 inches of snow yesterday during the day and then 1-3 in the night. Lorelai got her first taste of plowing snow with her daddy and she loved it! She sat on his lap and helped steer. Helped is an understatement. But so much fun and good for them to learn.
