Projects In A Flash

Saturday Harry was moving right along with the "honey-due" list.  Since I have started painting the kitchen he has been moving right along with marking off our list.  We are about half way through it.  In one day Harry hung curtains and rods, hung the dining room chandelier, put shelves above my cupboards so I could decorate, put thresholds down in kitchen, stained and cut our bedroom closet doors.  Along with entertaining our friends & grilling dinner.  He was quite busy but boy do I love everything that he got done.  Here are some pictures of what we accomplished.
See where the plug is and then we chained it.  Ok I despise chains and those little hooks.  They are everywhere in this house.  But our dining room is configured weird.  They centered the plug on the room but there is a doorway in the middle therefore you would not really be able to put a table in the whole dining room area.  So I had Harry center it on our table.  Probably hard to understand unless you have seen our dining room for yourself.  All that said to say I am happy with it!

New kitchen curtains.  I love them! My mom's cousin Sandy gave them to us and I just love how they look.
New patio curtains as well.  I had green curtains but with green walls I thought it was too much.  Therefore I got these chocolate brown ones.  I love how they go with my other curtains and blocks out the afternoon sun really well.

Harry made these thresholds...he did a great job!

Can you believe how well he was able to match up the stain to the existing flooring.  Harry is just amazing!
Some of my decorating above.  There was about an inch of a lip that went above the cupboards therefore if I would have set anything up there it wouldn't have showed up very well.  Harry took some boards and nailed them in so it is more of a flat surface for all my decorations.  I have been getting things here and there and still had some things boxed up from the other house.  So I have a good start on it.

And a picture of the kids having fun on the slip-n-slide while daddy was working.

I will keep updating you on our progresses.  I am going with a friend today to visit the Amish about a new island.  I am so excited about getting a new island...not the price!
